Dr. Michael Maskill

Dr. Michael Maskill is a board certified foot and ankle specialist with Kalamazoo Foot & Ankle Specialists. He has offices located in Portage and Three Rivers, Michigan. Dr. Maskill places honesty, integrity, and compassion at the forefront of his approach to care and creates personalized treatment plans for all his patients.

Dr. Maskill is a native of Grand Rapids, Michigan. He graduated summa cum laude with his Bachelor of Science in biomedical science from Grand Valley State University in Allendale, Michigan. Dr. Maskill received his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine from the Dr. William M. Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine at the Rosalind Franklin University of Medical Science in Chicago, Illinois, and completed a foot and ankle surgical residency at the Western Pennsylvania Hospital in Pittsburgh.

Furthering his training, Dr. Maskill completed a highly competitive foot and ankle fellowship in Portland, Maine, under the direction of Dr. Gregory Pomeroy. He received extensive exposure to the complete spectrum of foot and ankle disorders, which includes the operative and non-operative management of traumatic, degenerative, sports, rheumatoid, and diabetic foot problems, pediatric flatfoot deformities, cavovarus foot, removal of foreign bodies, and trauma, such as pediatric and adult fractures. Dr. Maskill also offers custom orthotics in-office.

With the extensive research he’s performed over the years, Dr. Maskill has many publications of his work on topics such as flat foot deformity and cavovarus deformity. He is a member of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons and is board certified in forefoot, hindfoot, and ankle surgery by the American Board of Medical Specialties.

Upon completion of his training, Dr. Maskill moved to Kalamazoo, Michigan, and has now been in practice for 10 years. He’s been married to his wife, Jeanette, for 19 years and has two daughters who are 9 and 11. In his spare time, he enjoys downhill skiing, wakeboarding, and wakesurfing.
